Jun 20, 11:00PM
Canadian band Wolf Parade's "California Dreamer" is one of those songs that sounds like a warning — a cautionary ballad that Los Angeles exists as a town intent on swallowing people whole. Accurate or not, it was a warning I personally didn't heed.

Because oddly enough, in the middle of this forest is the Pinecastle Impact Range, the Navy's only live bomb target practice site on the entire east coast.

Jun 20, 9:00PM
The tricky thing about wine—especially the fancy stuff—is that since it gets better with age, what you buy off the shelf isn't necessarily always at its peak. A few seconds with the Clef du Vin, though, will age it to perfection. And, if you're not careful, all the way around to bad again.

Jun 20, 8:00PM
When I got invited to Custom Melodies by Eternal Lips, I was skeptical. It sounded like another painfully self-aware ode to irony, the kind of art that can't see straight for its own winking. Perhaps it is. But it was also one of the most genuinely sweet experiences I've had in NYC.
