If Brand Slogans Were Brutally Honest
Nov 10, 2:12PM
Since advertising is all about the power of suggestion, it's fun to see what happens when the conceits of well-known campaigns are totally undermined. Apartment Hunting in NYC Is So Bad, I'm Considering This $8,000 Bus
Nov 10, 1:59AM
I've been on a grand tour of wacky apartment sublets since moving to NYC this past summer. For a guy who grew up in the Pennsylvania suburbs, it's an eye-opener. It's very dusty.

Last night, One World Trade's spire lit up Manhattan's night sky for the very first time. Up close, it was impressive, but perhaps a little lost amid the city's bright lights. From a distance though, it looked like a lightning bolt frozen in the midnight sky. A theme perfectly captured by the Voodoo Child himself.

How to Protect Your Phone From the Police
Nov 09, 5:15PM
Police forces around the country have developed the nasty habit of confiscating the phones of citizens who choose to film them, unilaterally deleting images and video of their actions. Whether that's a Fourth Amendment violation is still being decided by the courts; until that happens, here's how to protect your phone from the prying eyes of cops.

With movies you've already seen, sitting through the whole thing again is a little bit much. Since you already know what's going to happen, you only need to see a few key sequences to get the same amount of enjoyment. A quick top off as opposed to a full refill, you know? Slacktory nails this perfectly in their hilarious video How to make a superhero in 10 easy steps.
