This is what it looks like when a gun is pointing at you. It's a terrifying view that I hope nobody ever has to see. According to a Bloomberg report, Amazon has tested its own wireless network. As in a network that people would use to connect to the Internet. As in axing the middle man and essentially becoming a carrier or ISP on its own. As in potentially using a 'Amazon Wireless'-type service to get on the Internet from our Amazon Kindle Fire tablets to shop on Amazon.com or stream Amazon Instant Videos. Crazy.

The sad fact is human teleportation devices don't yet exist in 2013, and even if they did, the tremendous lag would make it extraordinarily impractical. Such is the reality of science that it doesn't always mesh with our fantastic visions of fictional futures filled with flying cars and other implausible technologies. In other words, reality sucks compared to what we've grown up watching on television.
