Good: Skitch lets you quickly create image, map, and Web page annotations to express your ideas visually. Also, because it's part of the Evernote family, it easily sync across all your devices.
Bad: An Evernote account is required to save your work. You can't name files.
Bottom Line: Skitch's quick-and-simple photo annotations are certainly a nice addition to the Evernote suite of products, but we still wish it had a few more tools in its belt. [Read more]

Apple iPad Mini

User Rating:
Good: The iPad Mini's ultra-thin and light design is far more intimate and booklike than the larger iPad, and its cameras, storage capacities, optional LTE antenna, and general functionality offer a full iPad experience. The display's dimensions elegantly display larger-format magazines and apps.
Bad: The iPad Mini costs too much, especially considering the lower resolution of its 7.9-inch non-Retina Display. The A5 processor isn't as robust as the one in the fourth-gen iPad and iPhone 5. Typing on the smaller screen is not quite as comfy.
Bottom Line: If you want a tiny tablet to do everything but make calls, the iPad Mini is worth the $130 premium. For an e-reader plus apps, choose a cheaper, higher-resolution 7-inch tablet. [Read more]

Apple iPad (4th generation)

Good: The newest iPad's faster A6X processor adds extra system speed and graphics power. Improved worldwide cellular compatibility makes the LTE model a more appealing proposition. And the iOS App Store remains best in class, with the widest selection.
Bad: The fourth-gen iPad is otherwise identical to its recent predecessor -- same size, weight, and Retina screen. It's heavy to hold in one hand, and most older accessories won't work without investing in a pricey Lightning adapter.
Bottom Line: The latest iPad adds several tweaks and improvements to secure its position at the top of the tablet heap. It's better all around, but third-gen owners need not apply. [Read more]

Klipsch Image S4i Rugged (Red)

Good: The Klipsch S4i Rugged in-ear headphones have the same impressive sound and fit as the original S4i model but they're more durable and have a sweat-resistant design. There's an integrated Apple-friendly remote/microphone and they come with a nice, compact carrying case.
Bad: While the larger remote is easier to operate by feel, it does dangle and knock around a bit when you're running; the inline remote isn't compatible with many Android smartphones.
Bottom Line: While serious runners may find the S4i Rugged in-ear headphones won't stay in your ears that securely, they're an excellent pair for gym and everyday use. [Read more]

2013 Ford Focus ST

Editor's Rating:
User Rating:
Good: The 2013 Ford Focus ST delivers responsive handling and plenty of power from its efficient four-cylinder engine. Voice command handles destination input, music selection, phone calls, and app integration.
Bad: The optional MyFord Touch system has a clunky interface, especially when it comes to navigation. The Recaro seats can be a little much for everyday use.
Bottom Line: A very rewarding car to drive, the 2013 Ford Focus ST will satisfy enthusiasts on weekend runs and the daily commute, but the cabin tech is a mixed bag, with the excellence of Sync offset by the navigation system interface. [Read more]

Google Search (iOS)

Editor's Rating:
User Rating:
Good: Google Search gives you the power of the company's popular search engine, access to Google apps, and some of the best voice search capabilities available.
Bad: Interacting with Google apps is still a little rough around the edges, with display problems and lack of functionality.
Bottom Line: With access to Google apps, the most popular search engine, and Voice Search results that even Siri can't match for speed, this app is a must-download. [Read more]

HTC Windows Phone 8X

User Rating:
Good: The HTC Windows Phone 8X's edgy design joins forces with a top-of-the-line processor, LTE speeds, and great call quality.
Bad: This phone's 8-megapixel camera took a few poor pictures, the buttons are too flush, and the OS lacks some key apps.
Bottom Line: With top specs and a striking design, HTC's Windows Phone 8X makes a smart choice for anyone ready to dive into the Windows Phone OS. [Read more]
